IASON consulting has been awarded funding by the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia under the “Zukunftsgutscheine Rheinisches Revier” program.

The funding supports the development of our AI platform Spectrum, which aims to digitize the approval process for medical devices in Europe. Since mid-July 2025, a new Transformation Expert has been driving this initiative forward.

Why Spectrum matters

In times of skilled labor shortages, Spectrum is designed to significantly reduce the growing bureaucratic burden on medical device manufacturers in regulatory affairs while at the same time increasing patient safety.

This will be achieved by:

  • deploying smart algorithms and multiple AI models

  • automating the aggregation of scientific data

  • automating the generation of regulatory reports and documentation

  • centralizing and harmonizing product, competition, regulatory, and market data

  • providing an intuitive and easy-to-use platform

Acknowledgment and outlook

We would like to thank the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia for their support throughout the application process. Special thanks also go to Mayor Frank Rombey (Niederzier) and his team, whose Entrepreneurs’ Forum first drew our attention to this funding opportunity.

With Spectrum, we are taking an important step toward the future of MedTech regulation.

Our goal is to drive forward the digitalization of the approval process and thus make a sustainable contribution to increasing efficiency and patient safety across Europe.

We are excited to take this important step towards shaping the future of regulatory processes in the MedTech sector.
